School Year Calendar

As per tradition, our official CFIS calendar is mailed to all families in the summer prior to the start of the school year. Advance notice of important dates are listed below so as to facilitate any family planning for vacations. We value the teaching time we have with our students - extended family holidays are not allowed unless you take the Principal with you!

2007/08 Calendar

June 20, 2008                  Last day of school for Pre-school and Elementary School students (finished at 11:30)
                                              - Report Card Distribution for Elementary School
                                              - Child Care Centre open until 5:30 pm
June 25, 2008                   Last day of school for Junior High school students
June 27, 2008                   Last day of school for Senior High School students
June 30, 2008                   Report Card Distribution for Junior/Senior High Students

will be mailed to all families with our summer mail-out.

August 26, 2008                Information Night for Pre-school and Kindergarten parents
August 28, 2008                1st Day of School (staggered entry for Pre-school and Kindergarten).
                                           CFIS expands the High School program to offer Grade 11  

December 19, 2008            Last day of classes before Winter break (school finishes at 11:30 am)
January 5, 2009                 School reconvenes from Winter break

Feb 9 to 13, 2009              Professional Development Week – no school for students.
                                           Costa Rica trip for Grade 9

March 19, 2009                  Last day of school before Spring Break
March 30, 2009                  School reconvenes from Spring Break

April 10, 2009                     Good Friday – no school for students
April 13, 2009                     Easter Monday – no school for students
April 14, 2009                     School reconvenes from Easter Break

June 19, 2009                    Last day of school for Pre-School to Elementary School students
June 25, 2009                    Last Day of School for Junior High Students
June 29, 2009                    Possible last day of school for Senior High School

Event Details

Preschool and Kindergarten Information Night
Tuesday, August 26, 2008 - 7 - 8 pm, School Cafeteria

Parents are invited to attend this evening to help your little one prepare for the first day of school. We ask that you without your child as space is limited. During this information session, the daily routine for all students
in Preschool and Kindergarten will be explained. Preschool and Kindergarten teachers will be available for your to ask any questions you may have. We look forward to your attendance.

ELEMENTARY, JUNIOR & SENIOR HIGH - Parent Information Night
