We are always looking for Volunteers. If you would like to become a Volunteer for Calgary French &
International School, please contact us today!
Your support enhances the school community and is felt and appreciated by students, staff and parents.
We continue to use the Tuition Credit Program (started in the 2007/08). The former program, Fundraising Options (which offered a
Financial Contribution or Volunteer Exemption), has been replaced by the Capital Asset Fee
(as described in the school registration package) and the Tuition Credit program.
The current Tuition Credit Program fosters a strong volunteer culture and creates
administrative efficiencies, while maintaining strong social opportunities for the school
community.
Highlights of the Tuition Credit Program:
- A tuition credit will be applied for the following school year. If a family leaves the
school, they will receive a reimbursement for their tuition credit work.
- All available positions are assigned a specific dollar value, based on the hours and
responsibility required for that position.
- There are far fewer positions available than in previous years.
The reduction is due mainly to the elimination of Bingos, a decision made after a
great deal of discussion, analysis and careful consideration.
- The right person for the right job -- selection will be based on suitability, experience, skills, and date of application. Past
experience will be an asset
if a parent wishes to re-apply for that position. There will be no limit to the
number of times a parent can serve in a position; conversely, there will be no
guarantee of receiving a position consecutively. Parents will need to re-apply
each year for positions of interest.
We thank you for your continued involvement with CFIS fundraising activities, and look
forward working closer with many of our families. Program information and applications will be available each year in the spring (April/May). Confirmation of positions is done prior to the end of each school year in June.
