The Facilities Planning Committee made up of parents, teachers,
staff, administrators, professional advisors and other stakeholders
have worked hard to design a functional and attractive high school
and community complex to be added on to the north end of existing
school. This 42,000 sq. ft. facility will accommodate up to 180
students, 10 additional classrooms, 2 science rooms, lecture theatre,
student and staff work and lounge areas, a larger gym with spectator
seating and change rooms, resource rooms, library, dining hall and
kitchen, fitness/workout areas, and more. The total project cost
is $6.3 million.
Project Implementation:
Construction of the High School begins in Summer, 2004 with a planned
opening of September, 2005 as follows:

High School Facility Features

- bleachers for 60 people and an upper mezzanine level with bleachers
for 80 people

Construction of Band Rooms and Drama Room and Stage additions
to the existing school began in April, and will be completed by
August 2004. This $450,000 addition provides new spaces that will
be used as classrooms for one year while the High School is under
construction.
Phase 1 was successfully completed on time and on budget in 11
months and at a cost of $12 million, and at 15-20% less cost than
comparable public schools.
