CFIS, a pioneer in french immersion, will achieve a major milestone as it celebrates it's 40th anniversary in 2009/2010. The 2009/2010 school year will mark the first Grade 12 graduating class. Following on the heels of the successful Junior High programme established in 2002, CFIS launched the Senior High programme in 2007.
With our diverse programme and state-of-the-art facility, CFIS students will graduate rich with strong academics, positive character, cultural awareness and excellent language skills in English, French & Spanish. Course offerings provide students with a balance of academics, sports and leisure, local & international community programs, arts, and people
skills. This preparation will provide these future global citizens with choice and opportunity throughout their lives.
CFIS is pleased to offer the Advanced Placement (AP) Program. Although the specific AP courses are taken in Grade 12, CFIS prepares students as early as Grade 7 by integrating key aspects into our courses. Students in the AP program improve their writing skills, sharpen their problem-solving techniques, further their reasoning and analysis, and develop the study habits necessary for the demands of university. This provides students with an opportunity to challenge themselves in an area or discipline in which they may have a particular strength or curiosity.
Guidance and career counseling become critical elements as students begin to define their aspirations and make their university choices. Every student is provided with expert mentoring and guidance from CFIS Faculty members during this pivotal phase of their education.
