Our Programs : Athletics

The importance and benefit of physical education are well proven. CFIS offers a full curriculum for physical education from Kindergarten through to Senior High School. Extra-curricular athletics are offered starting in Grade 5.

CFIS currently offers sports and recreation facilities for student, community and public use including:

  • Two double full-sized gyms and change complex
  • International sized soccer field (or two junior soccer fields)
  • Future junior baseball diamond for organized sports and general community-use
  • Two playgrounds - (preschool and elementary
  • Open playing fields

The School is actively working with community groups to ensure that its facilities benefit the greatest number of people. We are excited to be able to offer our recreational facilities in order to benefit our extended community family. By maintaining our Public Private Partnership (P3) approach, we are dedicated to being an active and positive part of our community. Click here for more information about using our facilities.

After-School Athletic Program (Grade 5-6)

CFIS offers an after school athletics’ program for Grade 5 and 6 students. This program allows the athletes to develop their knowledge and skills in various sports. People involved in all facets of the program are expected to demonstrate respect for others, good sportsmanship and dedication.

A big hit with our Junior High students is the Independent Schools Athletic Association (ISAA) league. The objectives of the league are to promote among students an awareness that the primary aim of school is education and that athletics provide significant social, cultural and emotional values.

The school competes in the following events during the school year:
