Our Classroom Giving Catalogue outlines our priorities for parent donations this year. Please click on the link to take a look at the many projects that need your help to move ahead or donate now at https://secure.cfis.com!
The Calgary French & International School Society is a registered, charitable organization. Our registration number is 119218022RR0001.
When you donate your time, treasure and talent to the Calgary French & International School, you not only support incredible learning opportunities for our students, you support the advancement of progressive, global-minded education across Canada.
Numerous, groundbreaking programs and initiatives at CFIS
were developed through donor, volunteer and in-kind support.
Giving is a very personal decision. Calgary French & International School donors impact the school in many ways, and often align themselves with specific projects or programs that are personally inspirational to them or their children.
We ask that you consider becoming a donor with a gift to our general fund or designated to one of these current priorities:
- Marcel Tremblay Learning Resource Centre
- Awards & Scholarships - consider contributing to one of our existing awards/scholarships or create a legacy by establishing a new one.
- Outdoor Classroom & Amphitheatre
There are numerous methods to make a donation to the school.
Cash or cheque
An outright gift of over $20, with no conditions, qualifies for a charitable tax receipt.
When we have a specific event, such as the musical or gala, our secure.cfis.com forms may have an option to donate by credit card.
United Way Campaign
Many employers have a United Way campaign. You can direct your donations to the school and often your employer will match your contribution.
If you are donating to United Way through your workplace and would like to direct the donation to CFIS, simply confirm that you would like your donation to go to a specific organization other than those listed and confirm the school’s organizational name, Calgary French & International School Society, and charitable registration number. Our registration number is 119218022RR0001.
If your workplace isn’t running a United Way campaign, you can still donate to the school through the United Way by using the United Way form below and filling out Section 3 with the school’s organizational name in full and including our charitable registration number: http://www.calgaryunitedway.org/main/images/toolkit/donating/2014-genera...
When you donate your time, treasure and talent to the Calgary French & International School, you not only support incredible learning opportunities for your child and their peers, you support the advancement of progressive, global-minded education across Canada. Thank you for considering the CFIS Society as your charity of choice.
Your legacy to CFIS is important. Leaving a gift to CFIS in your will or life insurance policy are just a few examples of the gift donations you can contribute that will attribute your name as part of the school’s history. By donating your gift to CFIS, you and / or your loved ones’ contribution will be remembered for years to come. We can help you achieve your philanthropic goals and maximize your income tax savings. By making a planned gift and telling us about it, you allow CFIS to celebrate your legacy while you are still with us.
Donations to CFIS do not always need to come in the form of direct money. You can also donate products and services that would be useful to CFIS. In-kind products can be tax receipted at fair market value. In-kind services cannot be tax receipted.
Leverage your gift
Many employers offer their employees a corporate matching gift program. If you make a gift to CFIS and your company has a matching gift program, all you usually need to do is notify your employer that you have made a gift and to what amount and they will send an additional gift to our campaign. There are approximately 200 companies in Calgary that offer matching gift programs so check with yours to see if this option is available.
