We’re excited to invite you to Fest’hiver, a CFIS-style winter celebration on Thursday, February 5th!

Filled with creativity, culture, and student-led energy, it’s the perfect way to bid the winter blues adieu and enjoy a fun afternoon with the whole community.

What’s happening:

• Scholastic Book Fair
• Student performances from the choir, band, and musical
• Workshops such as floor curling, winter crafts, and card making, as well as outdoor activities (weather permitting)
• Student market and seasonal treats, including maple taffy on snow!

We are delighted to invite the special adults in your child’s life to GrandFriends Day on Wednesday, January 28, from 8:30-10:30am at the MTLRC. This relaxed morning will offer coffee and refreshments, time to connect with our leadership team, student-led showcases, and a chance to explore our new facilities together. We hope you will share this invitation with grandparents and grandfriends and encourage them to join us for this meaningful community gathering. 

Get ready for a spook-tacular evening! CFIS is excited to invite ECE and Primary families (students, siblings, and parents) to our annual Monster Mash on Wednesday, October 25, 2025 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. With limited spots available, tickets are sure to go fast. Grab yours today!

Welcome Back BBQ and Used Uniform Sale

Be sure to join us on Thursday, September 11, from 5:00–7:00 pm on the school field as we celebrate the start of the school year with a family barbecue, games, and food trucks. It will be a wonderful opportunity to connect as a community and enjoy a fun evening together.

At the same time, donated uniform pieces will be available for purchase in the Seed Cafeteria from 4:30–7:30 pm during the Welcome Back BBQ. Please remember to bring your own bag. Both cash and credit will be accepted, with proceeds going to support High School student committees.

Mark your calendars for a fun-filled evening of food, music, and community at this exciting grown-ups-only event! Step back in time and party through the decades, dance the night away to live music from a fantastic band, and enjoy the chance to mingle with fellow parents, alumni, and staff. SpongeBob the Musical is the centrepiece of CFIS’s arts program this year, involving students from all divisions. Students are engaged in vocals, acting, set design, promotion, and a wide range of roles both in rehearsals and as part of their classroom projects. In addition to showcasing their talent on stage, students are also taking on important behind-the-scenes roles in tech crew, stage management, set design, choreography, lighting, and sound. This school wide collaboration offers a unique opportunity for students to grow as leaders and work alongside their peers in a creative and supportive environment.

Join us as we mark 55 incredible years of CFIS with an exciting Global Celebration! This special event brings our school community together to honour the rich diversity that makes CFIS so unique. All family members are welcome to take part in this unforgettable experience.

Here’s what you can look forward to:

• Performances: Enjoy captivating shows by artists and students, including Indigenous storyteller Curt Young and a Caribbean dance group.
• Food & Drink: Savour a variety of regional cuisines from our food and drink concessions.

We are thrilled to invite our community to the very first CFIS Monster Mash Halloween Dance, a fun and festive evening designed for the whole family.

Join us for a lively celebration filled with music, activities, and plenty of Halloween spirit, with a welcoming space for guests of all ages, including a special area for our youngest dancers. Costumes are encouraged, adding to the fun and creativity of the night, while keeping the atmosphere family-friendly.

This community favourite is a wonderful opportunity for families, students, and staff to reconnect, meet new members of our community, and enjoy a relaxed evening together, rain or shine.
