Building Strong Foundations

Building Strong Foundations

Just like the new school expansion construction taking shape right outside our classrooms, our Junior Kindergarten team is hard at work laying strong foundations across all of ECE for a fantastic year ahead.

The first few weeks of school are an important time for our youngest learners. Before we can build new skills and explore new ideas, we first build a sense of belonging, connection and confidence. And this is exactly what these first moments are:

Getting to know one another

Every child brings their own personality, strengths and interests to the classroom. These first weeks give us time to discover what makes each learner unique and celebrate the many ways they contribute to our classroom community.

Making connections

New friendships take time to grow. Through play, conversation and shared experiences, students are learning how to connect with one another and build a caring classroom community.

Mastering our routines

Knowing what to expect helps children feel safe and comfortable at school. Together, we are learning the rhythm of our days, from classroom routines to transitions, helping students develop confidence and independence along the way.

Growing confidence

Starting a new school year is a big step. We are encouraging each child to approach this new chapter with curiosity, pride and excitement as they discover all they can do.

And judging by the smiles we have seen during these first few days, the foundation is already looking strong.

We cannot wait to watch our little learners build, grow and thrive together in ECE this year!
