After postponing their trip last spring, our freshly minted Grade 6 students finally had their turn at Camp Kindle, heading off on an unforgettable adventure focused on teamwork, persistence and connection.
Guided by a group of wonderfully quirky camp counselors, students jumped into the low ropes obstacle course and took on a variety of team building activities. Each challenge gave them a chance to communicate, encourage one another and keep going when things did not go quite as planned.
And they were not alone. A fantastic group of dad chaperones joined the adventure and quickly found themselves just as busy as the students! Together, they helped create a camp experience filled with energy, encouragement and plenty of laughter.
Beyond the activities, some of the most memorable moments happened around the camp itself. Students enjoyed delicious meals, cozy campfire conversations and interactive camp songs. They also experienced one of the great traditions of overnight camp: discovering just how little sleep a group of excited students can get.
For our Grade 6 students, Camp Kindle was about much more than a few days away from school. It was an opportunity to strengthen friendships, practise persistence and discover what they can accomplish when they work together.
Camp Kindle may have arrived a little later than planned, but it gave our students a memorable way to begin their Grade 6 journey together.
