Celebrating the Embark Journey

The CFIS community recently gathered to celebrate an important milestone as our Embark students in Grades 2-4 completed the Embark program and prepared to continue their French immersion journey with confidence.

The celebration recognized the growth, perseverance, and accomplishments of students throughout their two years in the program. A highlight of the event was a special song performed by the students, which they had created together. The performance served as a meaningful reflection of their shared experiences, language development, and the strong sense of community they built along the way.

Designed for students entering Grades 1 to 4, as well as Grade 7 starting in Fall 2026, the Embark program provides a supportive pathway for students with no prior French language experience to join CFIS' full French immersion environment. Students learn alongside their peers while receiving additional language support tailored to their individual needs.

Through dedicated instruction and personalized support over two years, students develop the oral, written comprehension and production skills needed to thrive in a French immersion setting. By the time they complete the program, they are well-equipped to continue their learning alongside their classmates. 

During the celebration, students were recognized for their hard work and achievements as they received diplomas marking the completion of this important chapter. The event was a wonderful opportunity for families, teachers, and staff to reflect on how far the students have come and to celebrate the confidence and independence they have gained along the way.
