Lights, Music, Action, Chicago!

Lights, Music, Action, Chicago!

Our recent production of Chicago: Teen Edition was a spectacular celebration of talent, creativity, and collaboration at CFIS. For three incredible evenings (plus a lively Saturday matinee), our students took to the stage and brought the bold energy, sharp humour, and unforgettable music of this iconic musical to life.

From the very first notes of the opening number to the final bow, the cast and crew captivated the audience with their confidence, dedication, and stage presence. Whether it was the catchy rhythm of “All That Jazz,” the powerful storytelling of “Cell Block Tango,” or the many memorable moments in between, the show was filled with performances that had the audience smiling, cheering, and humming the songs long after the curtain closed.

What made this production especially special was the incredible teamwork behind it. Months of rehearsals, choreography, music practice, and creative collaboration all came together in a dazzling final performance. Under the direction of Deborah Weis, our students embraced the challenge of bringing such a well-known musical to the stage and truly made it their own, showing courage, creativity, and commitment every step of the way.

Productions like this are only possible thanks to the many people who contribute their time and talents behind the scenes. A heartfelt thank you goes to the staff members, volunteers, and families who supported the show, from organizing rehearsals and helping with costumes to building the set, coordinating logistics, and assisting with the countless details that make a production run smoothly.

We are incredibly proud of our students, both on stage and behind the scenes, for the passion and hard work they brought to this production. Their dedication turned Chicago: Teen Edition into a memorable experience for the entire CFIS community.

We also invite you to explore the photo gallery and relive some of the highlights from the show. These wonderful moments were captured thanks to the generous efforts of Señor Andres Barillasa-Costa, CFIS Spanish teacher, and Mme Wendy Coombes, CFIS parent volunteer.

The curtain may be down, but the excitement and memories from this show will last for a long time. Bravo to everyone involved!
