Inspiring Futures with CFIS Dads

Inspiring Futures with CFIS Dads

Our CFIS community shines because of the generosity, expertise, and commitment of our volunteers. Every hour given, every insight shared, and every conversation sparked helps bring learning to life for our students. We are deeply grateful for the many ways our volunteers inspire, engage, and empower young learners.

As part of da Vinci Day, Middle School and Senior School students gathered for a panel focused on clean energy, innovation, and climate solutions. Three CFIS dads volunteered their time to share how curiosity, science, and purpose shape impactful careers and real world change.

Kevin W. from Aquitaine Energy spoke about his work in carbon sequestration and long term carbon storage, highlighting how advanced science supports climate action on a global scale.

Elias G. shared his journey from classroom curiosity to working on medical technologies for astronauts at the Canadian Space Agency, showing how small steps and big questions can lead to meaningful impact here on Earth.

TJ M. from Anew Climate discussed how engineering and carbon markets help reduce emissions worldwide, and how STEM careers can drive practical, measurable change.

Hearing directly from community members helped students connect their learning to real world challenges and opportunities. The panel reflected CFIS values of global awareness, sustainability, and community engagement, while reinforcing that meaningful impact often begins with curiosity, commitment, and a willingness to get involved.

We are truly grateful to all of our volunteers. Your time, energy, passion, and unique talents help make CFIS an extraordinary place. We could not do it without you.
