Community Spirit in Action

Who knew a mountain of laundry could spark such community spirit? That was exactly what happened at yesterday’s Used Uniform Sale, where families generously donated gently used uniforms and volunteers turned them into a neat, organized sale.

More than 30 volunteers, including parents, staff, and students, contributed over 100 hours to unpack, sort, and fold more than 40 boxes of donations. They went above and beyond to make every item easy to find and ready for the new school year, with some joking that it was probably more folding than they had done at home in a while.

The sale was about more than uniforms. Reusing clothing helped reduce waste, kept good-quality items in circulation, and saved families money. It was a small but meaningful step toward sustainability and a clear reflection of CFIS values of care, community, and global responsibility.

We are thrilled to share that over $5,900 was raised in yesterday’s sale for the CFIS Jörd Student Committee, which helps our school continue to thrive and provide outstanding opportunities for students.

A sincere thank you to everyone who donated, shopped, and volunteered. Events like this show the strength of our community. The most surprising find of the day? $20 tucked inside one of the uniform items, a generous donation reflecting the spirit of the event, and a single yellow belt among a sea of red, blue, and white, which is still available if you are missing one.
