In Toronto, Ontario, Leone Tory '93 has found her niche working from home for General Motors over the past two years. As a Software Engineer, Leone aspires to continue her career at General Motors and eagerly anticipates new opportunities to expand her skill set and expertise.
Reflecting on her journey since leaving CFIS, Leone finds pinpointing a single defining achievement challenging. Instead, she derives pride from knowing that her contributions make a tangible impact. With a Bachelor of Applied Science in Mechatronic Systems Engineering, Leone made a bold move halfway across the country to take an opportunity with General Motors.
The halls of CFIS were not just a backdrop to Leone’s education. Guided by dedicated educators, Leone imbibed the ethos of resilience, learning to push boundaries and embrace challenges. The lessons in time and workload management, imparted during her time at CFIS, were not just academic, but life-changing. They helped her navigate university life and they continue to be a cornerstone of Leone’s professional success. CFIS nurtured Leone’s journey, equipping her with the tools and mindset to thrive in university and her career, for which she is deeply grateful.
