CFIS Turns 55! A Week of Joy, Community, and Celebration

It’s been an exciting and joy-filled week at CFIS as our 55th anniversary celebrations brought colour, music, and meaningful moments to campus. The school was buzzing with energy as students took part in creative activities, spontaneous dance breaks, and a school-wide assembly—all celebrating the community that has made CFIS special for more than half a century.

Throughout the week, students contributed to the vibrant spirit CFIS is known for—adding to our already colourful walls and ceilings with joyful artwork and personality. A mid-week assembly invited all students to join together in a celebration filled with fun throwback images, birthday music, and even a surprise appearance from a giant cake!

As part of the festivities, we took a moment to recognize the incredible commitment of our staff—many of whom have helped shape CFIS into the warm and dynamic place it is today. Did you know that over 20% of our employees have been with the school for more than a decade? Some have even passed the 30-year mark! It's these long-standing connections that truly reflect the spirit of CFIS: relationships that grow over time and make a lasting impact.

We were also proud to welcome visitors from CAIS this week, giving our community the chance to share what makes CFIS such a special place to learn and grow.

To wrap up the school-wide birthday fun, students and staff alike donned birthday crowns and hats and enjoyed a sweet treat together—because no celebration is complete without cake!

The 55th anniversary celebrations continue this Friday with The Spring Benefit: CFIS Through the Decades—an evening of fun, fashion, and fundraising in support of our exciting campus renovations.
