During the recent DaVinci Day, our Grade 10 students had the opportunity to participate in a variety of enriching internship experiences, each designed to broaden their perspectives and provide hands-on insights into different career fields.

One group connected with Anna Rebus, an archaeologist and museum specialist, who guided them in crafting museum labels for personal objects, emphasizing the importance of storytelling in heritage preservation. Another group spent the day with world champion athlete Paul Anthony, who shared his approach to holistic fitness and entrepreneurship, inspiring students with his personal journey and commitment to health and wellness.

Students visiting Calgary Court received a firsthand look at the legal system, observing real court trials, meeting with both Crown and defense lawyers, and even chatting with Justice Pepper. At GBE Energy, students were introduced to the dynamic world of electricity markets and futures trading, gaining valuable insights into data analysis and market efficiency.

During a lunch break at the food court, students humorously discovered that dining out can be a “wallet workout”—realizing that a slice of pizza can sometimes cost more than a full pizza at home!

Overall, DaVinci Day was a memorable experience, filled with exploration, learning, and fun moments, and it offered students a meaningful glimpse into potential future careers.
