Inter-House Spoons Tournament

Inter-House Spoons Tournament

***

This week during our Middle School House Period, Grade 6-8 students participated in an inter-House Spoons tournament! All students played the card game in their House classrooms, then sent their final two players to the gym to represent their House in our first inter-House challenge of the year. Congratulations to Nina K. of Baldur House for being our Spoons Tournament Champion!

House activities like the Spoons Tournament help to build a sense of community in our Middle School. Students have the opportunity to make friends in other grades as they play and cheer on other members of their House. Senior High students often speak about House activities being the highlights of their Middle School years.

"The Spoon Tournament really brought out the "House" in everyone: Thors were competitive, the Baldurs were creative with their chants and everyone was really encouraging to their Houses. It brought the community together in a really fun and interactive environment." - Collins L.

"Playing Spoons in front of the whole Middle School was nerve-wracking. Doing the tournament was a good chance to take risks and develop my confidence in doing things in front of an audience." - Mikayla M.

"It was really fun - a nice break to kick off the week!" - Posie P.
