Our youngest learners in Preschool (La Classe Jaune) have made a very special new friend,Moo-Lily the cow! This fall, students have “virtually adopted” Moo-Lily as part of a fun and educational classroom experience designed by Mme Meriem.

With the help of parent volunteers, students took part in a “milking a cow” activity, giving them a hands-on way to learn about where milk comes from. This safe, sensory-rich experience encourages fine motor skill development and helps children connect their learning to the world around them.
But the adventure doesn’t end at school! Each child will also have the chance to bring Moo-Lily, their stuffed classroom cow, home for two days (or over a weekend). Families are encouraged to take photos of their child and Moo-Lily reading together, sharing a meal, or enjoying playtime. These simple moments help children build empathy, communication skills, and a sense of community.

Through this playful activity, students are living out the IB Learner Profiles in age-appropriate, meaningful ways.
- Caring: by showing kindness and empathy toward Moo-Lily.
- Inquirers: by asking questions about where milk comes from and what cows need to live.
- Knowledgeable: by discovering how farms contribute to our everyday lives.
- Communicators: by sharing their Moo-Lily stories with classmates.
- Balanced: by exploring connections between people, animals, and nature.
This joyful initiative perfectly reflects our CFIS Early Childhood philosophy—learning through play, curiosity, and connection. It’s one more example of how our youngest students are growing into thoughtful, responsible, and caring learners.
